This Privacy Policy explains how Hogly, its website, and related services handle information. In this policy, “Hogly,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Hogly product and team.
Scope
This policy applies when you use the Hogly app, visit hogly.app, enable Hogly-operated notifications, or contact us through the app or by email.
Your use of a PostHog workspace is also governed by the agreement and privacy terms between you or your organization and PostHog. If an organization gives you access to its workspace, that organization controls the project data you view through Hogly.
Connected PostHog data
Hogly connects to PostHog using OAuth or a Personal API Key. Credentials are stored in Apple Keychain and may sync across your Apple devices through iCloud Keychain. Requests for dashboards, insights, events, replays, errors, people, feature flags, and other connected features go from your device to the PostHog host you selected.
Hogly does not copy your connected PostHog project data into a parallel Hogly analytics backend. We do not use that project data for advertising, profiling, or sale.
Some optional notification features create a narrowly scoped PostHog Workflow or destination in the project you choose. Those sources send allowlisted route identifiers to Hogly’s notification service; they do not send message bodies, exception text, stack traces, project names, or PostHog credentials.

Information we process
On your device
Hogly stores app preferences, connection details, and cached interface data locally. Authentication secrets are protected by Apple Keychain. You can remove a connection in Hogly or uninstall the app to remove local app data, subject to normal device backups.
Private iCloud sync
Hogly uses your private CloudKit database for a narrow set of Hogly-owned cross-device preferences that PostHog does not model, such as Overview layout, selected project references, project appearance, Project Detail layout, and Person favorite or pinned-property references. It does not place connected dashboards, insights, events, Person profiles, Replay contents, Support messages, or issue details in CloudKit.
Product analytics and diagnostics
Release builds use a separate Hogly-owned PostHog project for limited product analytics, app lifecycle events, feature usage, and crash reporting. Events may include an installation identifier, app version, device and operating-system information, feature outcome, and diagnostic details. They do not include the analytics records from PostHog projects you connect.
An installation begins with a generated identifier. If you view a paywall or make a purchase, Hogly may associate that history with RevenueCat’s app user identifier so purchase state and product analytics stay consistent.
Support you choose to send
If you use DM the Creator, we process the message, images you attach, an app-support session identifier, and limited diagnostic context needed to deliver and answer it. Image-bearing messages pass through a Cloudflare Worker and are stored with the conversation in Hogly’s own PostHog project. Email support processes the address and content you send us.
Website requests
Cloudflare may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, time, and security signals to deliver and protect hogly.app. We do not use website requests to build advertising profiles.
Optional notifications
When you enable a Hogly-operated notification, the service processes a random installation ID, encrypted device token, selected topic and project routing keys, subscription state, and the RevenueCat app user ID needed to confirm Pro access. Delivery uses the Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
Notification payloads contain allowlisted route identifiers and localization keys. Project names are added on your device from its local cache. You can disable a notification in Hogly or in system Settings; disabling the last remote topic removes its project subscriptions from the notification service.
Services that help Hogly work
- PostHog
- Connected workspace access, Hogly’s own product analytics and crash reporting, and support conversations you choose to send.
- RevenueCat
- Purchase receipt validation, entitlement status, and an app user identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your connected PostHog project data from Hogly.
- Apple
- App Store purchases, refunds, device services, Keychain, and push delivery. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
- Cloudflare
- Website delivery, security, optional notification infrastructure, and the image relay for DM the Creator.
Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. We disclose information only as needed to provide these functions, comply with law, protect rights and security, or complete a business transfer with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and service security. Remote-notification delivery records are deleted after 30 days, closed aggregation windows after 7 days, and disabled installation records after 90 days. Retention for provider-managed product analytics, diagnostics, purchases, and support conversations can differ by provider and data type.
We use measures appropriate to the information involved, including Keychain storage, encrypted APNs tokens, scoped credentials, rate limits, and data-minimizing event contracts. No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
- Remove PostHog connections and locally stored credentials from Hogly.
- Disable notifications in Hogly or in Apple system Settings.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account settings.
- Choose what you include in a support message or email.
- Ask us to access, correct, or delete information associated with you, subject to applicable law and information we can reasonably verify.
Hogly is a professional product-management tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as Hogly or applicable requirements change. We will revise the date above and provide additional notice in the app when a change is material. Your continued use after an update means the revised policy applies.
